Not that sales mindset isn’t still present, the attitudes began to change as did the economy after world war two.  Once again it was pretty easy to sell your products as there was little foreign completion. Companies began recognizing the benefits of marketing activities.  With television coming alongside radio there was more ways to advertise. Companies then developed as that as their service to others. To do this successfully data on what the customer   needed /wanted needed to be collected.  Surveys, consumer panels, and studying of consumers abounds. Aided by advancing technology in communications and computing made larger amounts of data accessible and interpretable. I believe this era continues but morphed into other sub sections.
